Hi Jim and thanks for your remembrance of Erin.

Of all of the lecturers I have heard, Erin was always tops! Remembering several talks, always about Santa Barbara, Erin always commanded her audience. Unlike others, the audience wanted to be there! Recently, after she wrote a missive for Noozhawk, I complimented her on her “piece”. She didn’t write back, she called! One of her buddies was David Myrick. David had written Books I & II on Montecito & Santa Barbara. On his deathbed in 2011, he asked me to complete his Book III. The manuscript he had written to that point, David asked for a few that he trusted to “proof” the manuscript. Erin was on the top of that list! David was known as the “de-facto” Historian for Santa Barbara-Montecito. However, Erin and Brother Neal were the ones that brought history to life.

Erin volunteered for all “fun things”. She always supported her buddies!

I thank God that I was one of them.

There is no replacement for this unique woman!

We love you Erin!

Dana

Wherever Erin appeared she warmed the atmosphere with her presence. I’m so sad because I always thought she’d be here with us keeping Santa Barbara, St. Barbara.

Why not create an Erin Graffy de Garcia celebration during fiesta and keep her spirit alive?
