Making Way for President Ron DeSantis
Here’s a message to those hoping, wishing, to have a peaceful dialog with the “well-meaning” opposition.
There is no “well-meaning” opposition.
It doesn’t exist.
The opposition doesn’t mean well and has only disregard and contempt for those of us with a differing opinion, or desirous of going in a different direction.
What follows are recent quotes from two members of that “well-meaning” liberal establishment who will never have the ability or inclination to “cross the aisle” or “reach out” to their political opponents.
Here’s actor/director Rob Reiner (formerly and currently known as “Meathead”) remarking upon the release of Donald Trump’s tax returns:
“We’re learning nothing that we didn’t already know about Trump’s taxes. It’s time to arrest the Lying Piece of Garbage.”
Another is Robert De Niro, who famously says “F**k Trump” every chance he gets, on stage or off, in front of cameras or not. Here’s what he said recently about the former president during an on-air interview:
“I always say lowlife because he’s a lowlife. He’s not a pig. I used to call him a pig, but pigs have dignity. He has no dignity, nothing. He’s a disgrace to the human race, if you will… He’s just a punk… a blowhard, a buffoon.”
Who on this side of the aisle would even want to talk to people who harbor such twisted thoughts? There are thousands of similar quotes from thousands in the entertainment world and I could go on, but you get the point.
I’m not sure what drives this animosity, but it does seem to be real.
As much as I admire Mr. Trump’s policies, however, and believe he deserves a second term and would like to see him get that second chance if only because of the chicanery of Democrat Party operatives who hi-jacked the electoral process in 2022 (editor’s note: if you look up “chicanery”, you’ll find a thesaurus defines it as trickery, flimflam, underhandedness, double-dealing, smoke-and-mirrors, hot air, and a host of other comparisons, all of which took place, instigated mostly by the Democrat Party and its rabid adherents, in that disgraceful election).
And as much as I’d like to see Mr. Trump’s triumphant return, it occurs to me that he is going to have to up his game considerably if he expects to beat his most likely opponent in 2024: Florida governor Ron DeSantis.
In case you missed it, here are just some of DeSantis’s refreshing and stirring remarks from his second-term inaugural address given last week, edited slightly for the sake of brevity:
“[A number of] cities and states have embraced faddish ideology at the expense of enduring principles.
“They have harmed public safety by coddling criminals and attacking law enforcement.
“They have imposed unreasonable burdens on taxpayers to finance unfathomable levels of public spending.
“They have harmed education by subordinating the interests of students and parents to partisan interest groups.
“They have imposed medical authoritarianism in the guise of pandemic mandates and restrictions that lack a scientific basis.
“This bizarre, but prevalent, ideology that permeates these policy measures purports to act in the name of justice for the marginalized, but it frowns upon American institutions, it rejects merit and achievement, and it advocates identity essentialism.
“We reject this woke ideology. We seek normalcy, not philosophical lunacy. We will not allow reality, facts, and truth to become optional. We will never surrender to the woke mob.
“Florida is where woke goes to die.
“… [This state] is proof positive that We the People are not destined for failure.
“Decline is a choice.
“Success is attainable.
“And freedom is worth fighting for.”
Who talks like that anymore?
Well, Governor Ron DeSantis does and until and unless the former president can deliver those kinds of words to the rest of the nation in a believable and meaningful way, my guess is that it’ll be Mr. DeSantis who not only wins the Republican nomination in 2024 but also the general election to follow.
Which wouldn’t be a bad thing.
In fact, it would be a wonderful thing.
But based upon my failure to correctly divine the outcome of the 2022 election, I’m not making any predictions, just hoping out loud that there will be a favorable result for those of us on this side of the aisle two years hence.
Nice piece. I vote for candidates based on their actions and accomplishments and on that scale Trump was a star. He made us energy independent, closed the southern border, was building wall for a permanent solution, convinced Mexico to help control the border, created a plan for a vaccine for Covid, raised the standard of living for the entire country, greatly reduced federal intrusions into our lives by reducing the number of federal regulations, lowered personal income taxes---I may have missed a few since these are from memory. He accomplished these while being lied to by Fauci and Birx (who admitted it), the FBI, CIA, and other agencies.
Internationally, he caused peace in Korea, the mideast, and forced other countries to increase their funding of NATO. Under Obama-Biden and Biden-Harris Russia invaded the Ukraine. In-between, under Trump, Russia did nothing. A coincidence?
His personality is different from mine, but I am not as successful as he is, and would not have been elected president.
However, the special counsel will continue to spread the lies that have already misled a sufficient number of voters as to make him non-electionable (to coin a word).
DeSantis appears to share many of the same attributes as Trump without some of the sharp edges. he also has a great state where he has, and can continue to, demonstrate the successes of his philosophies. Expect the media to increase their attacks
even if one likes trump, one would have to admit he doesnt know how to govern and really doesnt care to. take north korea for example. when trump entered office he inherited a global sanctions regime partly set up by Obama who miraculously got russia and china to participate which would have been effective leverage against north korea. but once trump got in office the whole thing crumbled when russia and china saw what a joke trump was and knew he didnt care about stopping north korea. instead trump only cared about meaningless photo ops. the north korean leader also has an intrest in this since it propped him up to meet with a US pres (the reason no other US pres would do so) so they had a lot in common. to this day, trump fans think trump was "strong" on north korea , stupidly uninformed that trump completely fucked the whole thing up.
lib celebrities dont represent democrats. you must have a thin skin to be offended by these comments and a blind eye regaring even worse ones by republicans. maybe the extreme comments by right wing arent mouthed by as many celebrities. instead its by right wing traitors who have tried to overthrow the US gov, kid nap politicians and throw out democrat votes.
but yes, i will vote for Desatis in the general. but no i wont vote for orange devil. the reason is there are many types of rights we have and are at risk of losing. trump tried to take away ppls right to vote by spreading lies about elections that many stupid right wingers still believe. reality check: it has not been shown that even one vote was or wasnt cast fraudulently. all the hub bub about this was complete and total lies. congrats you were scammed.
democrats are erasing the rights of women, kids, gays, parents and other via fraudulant gender ideology. no other pol has stood up to this fraud as well as desantis in his state they reviewed the evidence that gender care works, something the US gov has never done. FL review found the same thing as UK sweden and finland reviews did - that gender care for kids doesnt help anything. its all one big lie dems are pushing.
