Jim Buckley's reflection on D-Day is a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by the brave men and women who fought for our freedom. The statistics he cites are staggering - 400,000 deaths, 29,000 boys dead in just a few weeks, and 9,389 American GIs buried in Normandy. It's heartbreaking to think of the families who were torn apart by the loss of their loved ones. Look forward to reading more. My sub: https://posocap.com

Jim, thanks for your service to our precious Community, in many ways!
Anyone that makes the trip to Normandy will know how revered we Americans are for sacrificing our blood for France and all of Europe.
I agree, and I, too have visited. Normandy along with Bruyères- and Biffontaine-en-Vosges. Sacred, indeed.
Lovely! CJC
